Julie Chen Moonves, who was one of the initial hosts and moderators of The Talk (a Daytime Emmy Award award-winning talk show) was back on the air August 5 for the 22nd episode. She was a writer prior to becoming a host, however her true desire was to write. It actually won the show an Emmy. Then she won a second Emmy for her role as host of an exceptional entertainment talk show. She co-hosted the CBS News weekday morning show The Early Show between 2002 until 2010. Her prior roles included anchoring CBS Morning News and The Early Show. Chen Moonves was assigned to Cairo in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks. There, she tracked down and interviewed the father who commanded hijackers for an eye-opening and interesting interview. Chen Moonves is a journalist who has worked alongside newsmakers such as former New York City City Mayor Rudy Giuliani. Queen Rania, the former defense secretary William Cohen and Denzel Washington. Chen Moonves is also a CBS Sunday Morning reporter who has profiled stars such as Jamie Lee Curtis. Before The Early Show she was an editor at WDTN TV Dayton which was based in Dayton in Dayton, Ohio (1995-1997). While completing her last semester at University, she served as an assistant at ABC News in Los Angeles (1990-1991) and served as producer for ABC NewsOne (the network's affiliated news service). This was her first time working in broadcasting, as a Desk Assistant on ABC News' late-night show Nightline featuring Ted Koppel. Ted Koppel is still one of her favorite journalists. Chen Moonves and Ted Koppel collaborated in Anatomy of a Riot - the primetime TV special that was awarded the Columbia du-Pont award - which looked at what happened during the Los Angeles riots of 1992.
